i don't trust you yet
i don't trust myself yet
i've been hurt too many times
on the outside and in
it takes me years to be
honest with others and myself
i put on a "happy" face
to please everyone around
i don't see the truth
until many years later
to open up and be honest
with anyone is hard.
please be patient
as i learn to trust
you and me
there will be ups and downs
but i will trust you
after many challenges.
